On Friday the 29th of May, we had our annual hotpot social (yay!), and with winter coming up it was perfect weather for the occasion. This was a great opportunity for youth to invite their friends along who do not know what youth group is or do not know what Rewire is. We had a slow and early start to the night, but as the night went on, we had more and more people come. And ended up with an attendance of 37 youth both regulars and newcomers (this was nearly double the expected attendance!- I think it’s one of the biggest turnout ever).
We kicked off the night with a talk from Crystal on Titus 2:11-14.
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
This talk was a good reminder of the great gift of salvation that God has offered to us all through the redemption from sin through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. It teaches us not only to deny ungodly living, but also tells us to not conform to the worldly desires that we have. With this message in mind, the youth were split into discussion groups where they reflected upon what they had heard.
We then began the HOTPOT part of the night and this was a great chance for youth to not only to get to know and share with each other, but also to get to know the leaders more. And what better way to start this, by interviewing Rewire Co-ordinator, Jasson! So we got to know Jass a bit more (his age and what he does on a day-to-day basis) and what his role is at Rewire. Jass then shared with us how he came to know Jesus Christ his Lord and Saviour, and how God has been working in his life over these years.
Also, on each of the tables, I had organised some random things that the youth could talk about amongst themselves. And since I came up with them, I thought it’ll be good for you guys to see my responses xP

When everyone was all full from eating the delicious food, all the youth just hung out and talked until the end of the night. This was a great chance for everyone just to relax and get to know each other a bit more over our food comas, whilst listening to my Spotify playlist hahahaha xP
Overall, it was a fun and awesome night for both the youth and leaders. Just being able to have the chance to sit down and just chill over food is such an awesome thing to do, and the leaders hope to make it even better next year! 😀 On a more serious note, all the leaders are so encouraged to see all the youth inviting their friends along to Rewire, and we hope to see them on Friday nights more (:
From your coolest leader ever,
