PASSAGE: Galatians 3:1-5

Big Idea:

Our motivation for growing in Christ-likeness is not because we want to be more acceptable to God

– but because of our growing relationship with Jesus and His Holy Spirit Who lives in us.

PASSAGE: Galatians 2:11-21

Big Idea:

Being saved by faith in Jesus means that we are freed from having to depend on our own works for justification. This is a freedom not to sin but to live for God by submitting daily to the Holy Spirit.

PASSAGE:  1 Corinthians 15:1-20

Big Idea:

Jesus’ resurrection means that He has overcome sin and death.

He now lives in Christians through the Holy Spirit, giving us power to become more like Him.

Passage: Galatians 1:10-24

Big Idea:

From Paul’s testimony we se that his Gospel was not invented by man nor did he receive it from any man but from God. A testimony consists of 3 parts:

1. Life before conversion

2. Conversion

3. Life after conversion.

Key verse:  “…the Gospel I preached is not something that man made up… rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.” [Galatians 1:11-12]

Questions to think about:

1. What is God trying to say to us?

2. What response of obedience does God require from me?

Passage: Ephesians 6:17, Matthew 4:1-11

The whole Bible is the armoury of God’s Word in which the swords of the Spirit are stored. We grow in our knowledge of God’s Word by: Hearing, reading, studying, memorising and meditating on God’s Word systematically and regularly.

Passage: Ephesians 6:10-18, 1 Cor. 1:20-25

The helmet of salvation guards our mind by filling it with the wisdom of Christ for every situation. Our responsibility is to diligently study God’s Word and to make every thought submit to Jesus and His Word
