As a welcoming and outreach team, our actions must still be grounded in the bible. It is therefore vital for the team as a whole to have a complete a thorough understanding of Christian foundations.
As a summary, the following topics were explored:
Study 1 – Saved by God
Passage: Romans 5: 6-11
Big Picture – Key verse v. 8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Study 2 – Alive in Christ
Passage: Ephesians 2:1-10
Big Picture – Part of our salvation is being made alive in Christ through the grace of God
Study 3 – Living God’s way
Passage: Galatians 5:16-25
Big Picture – Per Lesson 1: we have been saved by Christ, Per Lesson 2: we have been made alive to Christ.
Now the right response to the above is to live God’s way through the Holy Spirit.
Study 4 – Listening to God
Passages: 1 Co 2:6-14, Eph 6:17
Big Picture – We respond to the grace provided by God by allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us. How does this happen – part 1 through the word of God
Study 5 – Talking to God
Passages: Eph 6:18
Big Picture – We respond to the grace provided by God by allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us. How does this happen – part 2 through prayer
Study 6 – God’s family –moving towards sanctification together
Passages: Eph 4:1-15
Big Picture – As a unified church, we are to all play our roles to build each other up towards a; Godly maturity.
Study 7 – Bringing outsiders into God’s family
Passages: Matt 5:13-16
Big Picture – We are to be the salt and light of the world so that people can come to know God
